Sir Robin Knox-Johnston is the founder and Chairman of the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race and is an inspirational figurehead to those who undertake this challenge of a lifetime.

On September 13, 2009, more than 300 adventurers from all over the world to will form ten teams competing in the Clipper 2009-10 Round the World Yacht Race.

The Clipper Round the World Yacht Race is the only global competition where three-quarters of the participants are people from all walks of life. They can step out of their comfort zones and sign up to race 35,000-miles around the world.

They come from backgrounds as varied as marketing executives, nurses, bankers, carpenters, IT specialists, engineers and chief executives who represent more than 30 nationalities.

Ten months, 35,000 miles of ocean racing and around 400 people facing the challenge of a lifetime.
