Captain Bob Wellen has been messing about in boats all his life. He is a graduate of DeVry Institute of Technology, where he earned an Associates Degree of Electronics and Science with Honors. He has more than 20 years experience; 10 of those years as Captain/Engineer on Motor Yachts over 100 feet.
In 1997 he served as Shipyard Project Manager and supervised construction of a 98 foot Motor Yacht. He has also managed several yacht refurbishment projects.
In his career, Bob has logged more than 200,000 nautical miles. He has cruised extensively in the Mediterranean, Bahamas, Caribbean, United States and Canada. He also invests in real estate. In summer his home port is in Maine and in winter at the Bitter End Yacht Club in Virgin Gorda, BVI.
