August 18, 2009: PORTIMAO, PORTUGAL - -Practice day for the TP52 fleet off Portimao and the forecasts for light and conflicting breezes remain in force, the consensus being for somewhere between five and 11 knots of sea-breeze during the early afternoon. The format for the day is as usual, two practice starts prior to a start to the normal windward-leeward circuit.
Among the line-up changes, Quantum Racing (USA) have 'round the world race winner' Phil Jameson (NZL) on board, and Ian Moore (IRL) returns to his role as navigator after competing with Ireland's Green Dragon in the Volvo Open Ocean Race.
"I think we'll see between 5-7 knots from the south and southwest, much the same as yesterday, and later in the day, after the racing, the northwesterly will break through again," suggested Moore this morning.
